Evening walk by the full Thames

More rain today. Had to drive through a very deep flooded road to get to work - quite scary and not helped by an impatient woman in a huge 4x4 who did not seem to take note of the rules of the road or appreciate the depth of the water.

Decided to go to Costco at lunchtime as it was still too wet for a walk. It brightened up later on in the afternoon so I dragged husband out for a walk when I got home. The riverside was very soggy and some of the paths around the nature reserve were completely underwater.

The Thames looked very brown and had a very obvious flow - it usually looks calm. The water was lapping round the steps at the lock at Sonning and the mooring points by the lock were submerged. We heard our first cuckoo in the woods.

Paid for my camera to be 'repaired' today - still haven't heard from the manufacturer about my email complaint. May have to chase it up but am looking forward to having the camera back again.
