Tongue and Groove
I was brought up on "center-weighted" metering. It was the way of the World in film cameras in the 70's. As things changed, more and more cameras were fitted with "Spot" metering. This was the form of metering I have tended to use ever since I have had cameras that had the facility.
I have resisted the use of the various multi-metering matrix exposure systems found in today's digital marvels, until I read an article in a photo magazine about this system. They are explained "as simply amazing";-"perfect exposures in 98% of situations".
So yesterday I set up my camera to its multi-zone pattern and used it today. Obviously the main subject of this photo "the cat" is part of the 2% for which the system didn't cater for.
