Le Dorat
Another view of the 11th Century church at Le Dorat, this time from the inside (the picture of the outside is here)
The weather was kind again today, mostly sunny and warm. So after a lazy morning and trip to the supermarket at Bellac, we stopped off at Le Dorat to have a look around inside (you can read more about Le Dorat on Wikipedia or, if you're French is up to it, on Le Dorats on web page here ).
It's huge, and so cold inside that you could see your own breath, even though it was twenty degrees outside. As well as a full body sized font (centre front of the picture), the church has many brightly coloured stained glass windows. It's amazing to think that the building has stood for a thousand years.
