Westerton Farm

Out and about at work today checking conditions of paths, assessing proposed forestry planting and investigating blockages to access.

As usual I met a varied bunch of folk on my travels, all with their particular story to tell or issue to raise. I met one lady who was keen to see all the trees alongside a path chopped down and shortly after, another who wanted to complain that all the trees alongside of a path had been felled. You can't win really!

Nevertheless it is nice to be out in fresh air and countryside and chatting with people with a general aim of protecting and enhancing our natural heritage. I do love my job.

I passed the road end to Westerton Farm on my travels and snapped this photo for my boys to get them to guess where I had been. They of course knew straight away that it was Maitland Mackies farm, the home to the fabulously delicious and famous ice cream.

Why I hadn't brought any home for tea to more than a bit of explaining!
