Like it or Lamp it

We have friends coming to stay with us this weekend, so are hurriedly trying to get the house looking lovely and guest-worthy. Today the fireplace was cleaned, and will be re-painted tomorrow, and I've been thinking about what to put in the fireplace. Personally I like this lamp, which was bought for us as a Christmas present, and I wanted to buy a couple of similar smaller lamps, and have them clustered together, but Mark isn't so keen on my idea. I'm thinking I'll just go ahead with my idea anyway... they weren't serious when they said marriage was all about compromising were they?
