These are not peas...
My garden has had to be put on the back burner a little over the last couple of months due to the craziness of Beltane and bad weather on days when I did have time. Not wanting to miss out however, my dining table has become engulfed in little seedlings, plants and herbs that will get planted out just as soon as I get chance to properly dig over the bed (and harden the plants off). For some reason, whenever I see these I call them peas. They aren't peas, I hate peas. They are in fact borlotti beans.
Hopefully I'll get a couple of nice days next week to cycle up the canal and get the digging done and hopefully my garden owner won't have minded my absence too much.
[edit] I forgot the important piece of news for today. A guy buzzed on the door this afternoon saying he was here to measure up for our free loft insulation. Odd I thought, but as they can access the loft house without entering the flat I decided to let them in. After chatting with the guy it seems that Edinburgh City Council and the Energy Saving Trust have teamed up with Carillion Energy Services (formerly Eaga) to provide free loft insulation to homes in the South of Edinburgh. Once he left a quick google found the initiative on the council website and numbers matched those on the trust's website. As long as the neighbour across the way gives consent, we'll get our loft insulated! Very happy about this as we've been wanting it done since we moved in but couldn't due to it being a shared space.
