a habit
I've taken to having a bed time routine that involves a mug of ice cubes. When I decide that it's time to get going to bed I go to the kitchen and fill a mug with a tray's worth of icecubes (with a dash of water just to kick start the process) and then I go about getting ready for bed alternately drinking the ice water or sucking the cubes, by the time I've finished the mug I have to be in bed, lights off and practically asleep. It's been working so far.
