Large pond!

Today, I feel a little better than yesterday, so I ventured some 30 metres from the house, with my camera, to photograph the pond. Using the same focal length as before only captured 2/3 of it, so I had to use a wider-angle lens. There are now ducks on the pond most of the time and two are in this picture, between the two trees in cages on the bank (now submerged) of the pond.

The pond will probably double in area over the next couple of days, as the water from the surrounding higher ground drains down, a 15 to 20cm rise will double the visible area. The wet area is already somewhat larger than can be seen as the grass is almost 23cm tall, so you definitely need wellies to walk on/in the grass area in the picture. My rain gauge shows a fall of 24mm over the past 24 hours!
