You can lead a horse to water

This is an area in our village called the Horsepool.So called because it used to be a stopping off point for horses & carriages travelling to & from the north of England one of the houses on the right is the original coaching house.
The area fell into disrepair until a group of villagers formed `Friends of the Horsepool` and raised the funds to buy the land and restore it to its former glory
There is a viewing platform over the pond to enable you to see the pondlife safely. The pathway goes all the way round and there`s a raised sensory flowerbed for visually impaired. It`s been sympathetically planted to attract all sorts of wildlife.
They have placed nesting boxes in the trees and we have a resident pair of mallards who have raised several broods of chicks.
It`s a lovely tranquil place to spend a bit of quiet time and watch the world go by.
