Tip Blip
Photographing butterflies can be frustrating, challenging but very rewarding.
Frustrating because after stalking your subject, setting the camera for the best DOF your subject can be gone in an instant. This male duly obliged by staying put and when he decided to move simply settled on an adjacent dandelion clock. Challenging since you have to get low down and in some contorted shapes to get the shot you want, especially as this shot required avoiding a pile of dog poo and trying not to get covered in mud from lying in a ditch. Rewarding since I got the shot I have wanted for a while a backlit Orange tip basking in the sun.
