another meeting in Edinburgh and a bit of free time before it, so in the name of research, I went for a coffee at the newly-opened branch of Earthy, the organic food shop. I found the staff to be professionally enthusiastic and the food looked delicious. I shall return one day for lunch.

There was also time for a visit to the National Portrait Gallery, one of my very favourite places. The Romantic Camera display inspired me to take even more ( and better) photos.

After the meeting, the sun came out and Edinburgh looked beautiful.

My day could not even be ruined by a phone call from Eldest Son to say that his football had broken a window...so much for study leave.
