And I'm Giving You A Longing Look

One of Tooli's last actions as Head Girl was a speech to be given alongside her Head Boy at the Leavers' Ceremony today.

First drafts of the speeches were proffered at the start of the week, and neither Head Boy, nor Head Girl appreciated the other's, and re-drafts were demanded.

I checked my email when I woke on Tuesday, and seen an email from Tooli to Boy, saying "Tell me honestly, no holds".

There was no reponse that I could see from Boy, but as I staggered to the loo and asked Tooli, did your Brother respond? She laughed and said "yes, he did". And the speech had been signed off as being acceptable.

I read a copy of it this morning and after reading it, I had to blink the tears away. She had incorporated everything she had written before, but I could feel a different tone through it and in my head, I could hear Boy telling her how to change the phrasing to make it sound just right...

So speeches delivered, goodbyes said, tears spilled, the class of 2012 are all celebrating hard at a secret location in town....

How did she do? I got a text from her friend "She did amazing, her speech made me cry, and it got a good few laughs".
