Rooks' Nest
Over the last few days a pair of rooks have been setting up home in the ash tree opposite my bedroom window. Their skill and determination in squeezing through the branches with long twigs is a joy to watch, very endearing.
I put out some prunings from the garden yesterday and watched them gather them; my neighbour added some coir from his hanging baskets and they took that too. The nest is a thing of beauty as it grows. It's the first time they've nested in this tree, we just hope they haven't misjudged conditions - it's ten feet from the sea at high tide and quite exposed.
