Birthday Cake

It's my mum's 76th birthday today, and we celebrated with a chocolate cake. My sister baked the cake (and it was excellent, I must say) and asked me to decorate it. I asked my sister how she wanted it to be done, and she said "go over the top with it" so I hope it met with her approval.

The cake was sandwiched together with Philadelphia chocolate spread (wonderful stuff - first time I'd used it) and covered with a mixture of melted dark and milk chocolate. Once the candles were in I threw all the sweets I had at it: Maltesers, giant chocolate buttons, ordinary chocolate buttons and crumbled up Cadbury's Flake. It slipped down quite nicely with a cup of tea.
