Spring kites

Leaving a meeting on land tenure at UN Habitat, I admired the quantity of the kites caught in the power lines above their wall. These kites become very popular when the winds around the Ides of March pick up.

I also like this photo as it shows the ubiquitous barbed wire and gate that protect all buildings here - homes, offices, restaurants. In the 'formal' part of the city that is.
