Dahlia at Britzer Garten

Went to explore one of the Botanical Gardens of Berlin today, the Britzer Garten in the South. A really splendid park with lots of playgrounds and beautiful flower arrangements. I love dahlias - they will always remind me of my gran who lived on a farm and had a big flower/vegetable garden where we went to pick the dahlias in autumn and made up our own beautiful big bouquets. Such a satisfying feeling that.

Today, we were in luck - the Oktoberfest was on this weekend and we had Weisswurst, Schweinshax and Germknödel. The kids were particularly taken with the Bavarian brass band in traditional costumes and it was a bit of a shame that the rain set in and sent us home.
