Clean
The pool lay unused and neglected for most of the summer last year because I was constantly working out of state. Since I was gone the winter cover was not put on and the pool became a repository for every leaf from every tree within a hundred feet.
Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago. It took some effort to rid the pool of a few bushels of leaves, recent and in various stages of decay. Along with the debris was a selection of life, from algae to water bugs to tadpoles. Now the water chemistry is about right, the pool nearly completely scrubbed, and we are ready for a summer of fun in the sun.
In reflection, it's almost amazing how quickly a situation can deteriorate due to neglect. But almost always the original luster can be restored with some effort and continued proper attention. It's easier to maintain something than to repair or restore it.
Fresh, clean starts are good.
Let's go splash!
