The Road to Togakushi Shrine
Uyama Hiroto - Carbon Rose
The road to Togakushi Okusha is a little tricky but beautiful, lined with 300 year old Cryptomeria Trees, it's a wonderful walk. It gets difficult as you get to the upper shrine, especially when it's still covered in snow. In winter, I'd imagine it to be a bit more easier to climb, but since it's spring, the ice is somewhat slippery and unpredictable. Thankfully I had my tripod with me as a walking stick. At the main gate towards Okusha there was a massive pile of sticks, hiking collateral damage, illustrating the need for spiritual enlightenment.
The other parts connected to Togakushi Shrine are Hokosha (the lowest on the mountain) and Chusha (the middle). Wonderful places to go and enjoy nature. Not to worry, non-hikers, there are plenty of vending machines in between. :P
