Almost 100%

You may or not remember last weekend little Bryn was feeling under the weather, well we have had a week of it with him to say the least. Monday trip to docs with tummy pains which was only being made better with Nurofen, Was told just had a bug which to be fair i thought it was at that stage.
Tues still poorly and in the evening he said his arm felt weird and he couldn't put any weight on and his joints were feeling achy, this rang alarm bells, thinking i need to get him to docs. As he was getting ready for bed I noticed he had a meningitis style rash all over his legs. Got the glass out didn't go!!!!

Well i have never been so scared in my life straight to A&E we went we eventually saw the triage nurse and she told me it more than likely wasn't meningitis, if it was he wouldn't be walking and talking and being able to stand light, so that was a relief. We sat and waited to see doc who then told us she thought it was something called HSP an inflammation of the blood vessels, usually flares up after a cold or infection of the air ways, usually boys and in Spring time how bizarre. They don't know why it occurs but it does.

So eventually paediatric doctor came round and took some blood and said that he needed a nights stay in hospital so they could monitor as it can affect the kidneys. We got on the ward at 3 in the morning.

They sent us home late afternoon on Wed and said that for the next month i have to test his wee everyday and a nurse will come out once a week to check his blood pressure. He's still got the aches and pains, but he's getting there, I think the peak of the illness was on the Tues night. It has subsided and at least we know when he's in pain what it is. We just have to keep giving him painkillers.

On saying this we have had a lovely lazy week and we've spent lots of time cuddling up on the sofa watching telly and eating rubbish well i have, not him. Dragging him to hold balloons for my 365 blipPlaying in fields with balloons and going to meet friends!!
