C of I
Enjoyed a sunny and leisurely breakfast with Hubs and Sheila (sofa surfin after last nights late dancing at the jazz fest). There was lots of food talk and then weighing and measuring of bodies - we ended up following link from calculating our body mass indexes!
We took a drive out along a tiny lane to Goleenmarshes, where we found this old ivy covered Church of Ireland ruin. It had the distinctly different feel from the usual R/C cemeteries. The surnames, the headstones, the lack of crosses, rosaries and Celtic knots all gave it a more C of E familiar feel .
One of the many wonderful aspects of Ireland is it's respect for the dead, as in spite of it obvious abandonment long ago, the grass is cut and there is access to the graves.
