Firstsite

We went to visit my cousins in Colchester today. The weather was rubbish and it rained non stop all day so we went to have a look inside the new Firstsite building. It was designed by Uruguayan architect Rafael Vinoly and his design was selected from a worldwide architectual competition that attracted more than 100 entries.
The buildings crescent shape was created to wrap around the existing D-shaped garden of mature trees.
Firstsite is a contemporary visual arts organisation and a partner of Plus Tate. Plus Tate are also partners with the Baltic in Gateshead.
