Seed and peel cake

This is a piece of birthday cake leftover from my birthday on 31 January. There was a lot of it so I froze some, and defrosted a few slices yesterday.

It's one of my favourite types of cake, a plain sponge with caraway seeds and candied peel in it. My mum made it and it's jolly tasty.

The china is called 'Hedgerow' and was bought second-hand for a bargain price in the Macmillian Coffee Shop at Quarrymill in Perth.

The tea is a mixture of Indian and African black teas called 'Brief Encounter blend' and was purchased at the Station Tearoom in Carnforth, Lancashire, where the classic black and white movie Brief Encounter was filmed.
