Follow the string!

There is something for everyone at most orienteering events and this is part of the string course, for the youngest runners; by following the string around a course they are able to find the checkpoints and mark their maps with the pin punch. While the very young were racing round the string we were next door orienteering over Heslington Burrows, a limestone hillside above Kendal. It was fast and furious with many mispunches!! (No string to follow!)
