Lorna's Little Life

Reaching out

Today I went on a train to Leeds. I slept on the train. I did some number crunching on the train. I did some pro and con lists on the train. I met Tom. I drank tea. I wandered the shops. I bought Malta Guiness. I nearly bought fake flowers. I listened to buskers. I ate soup. I chatted with Tom. I got sore feet. I investigated the Uni campus. I saw old buildings get lost in the 'new'. I went to the Uni chaplaincy. I met Hannah. I drank iced tea. I went to the pub. I bought falafel. I slept on the train home. I did many things.
Why?
Because Becki was going to Leeds for an open day, and I needed to be there for her. Even though I didn't see her between 6am and 3.30pm, I was there. That was important, I think for me and for her. Reaching out... Just by doing that travel and being nearby, and opening my eyes to life around... My arms and heart are open.
