Recycling
This gravestone is of Gilbert de Greenlaw and he died at the Battle of Harlaw in 1411. Yet he stops just above his knees and the other side has the gravestone of a member of the Forbes family from the late 16th century.
Graveslab in Kinkell churchyard south of Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. Dedicated to Gilbert de Greenlaw who was killed at the battle of Harlaw in 1411, "Bloody Harlaw" and shows a knight with a hand and a half sword and wearing an open-faced bascinet helmet with a mail-reinforced en:arming doublet beneath plate armour.
Great stone and story.
