The Kiltwalk

We'll Support The Kiltwalk Evermore

So there's a week to go and it will soon be time to look out the blister plasters, Vaseline and if your a guy, some form of underwear as 26 miles is a long way to go commando and NOT recommended!!

I'm not walking next week as I've been given organisational duties, however I'm lead to believe that, although a "tad hilly" in places, the scenery is stunning, so maybe next year.

What I do know or perhaps should I say "wish for" is that Speyside has its very own adrenalin rush which in the case of the Hampden to Loch Lomond Kiltwalk was the guy shown in today's Blipfoto Journal.

No one knows his name, however that doesn't stop us loving every bit of him and let me explain why.

If your like me then the last few miles can seem the worse, with legs aching, blisters popping and will power running out and just as you think you're never getting anywhere, never mind the finish line, you hear this guy.

He lives about a mile or so from the finish line and as you can see he takes up position at his bedroom window and cheers EVERYONE on from first to last, which is a six hour stint.

What the picture doesn't convey is that in addition to "flag waving" our "Kiltwalk Cheerleader" sings along to the songs he belts out from his music system which range from The Proclaimers to The Tartan Specials and his dedication to the cause really does get you over those remaining few miles.

So here's hoping there's a Speyside equivalent "supporting you evermore"
