Red Cedars

My Dad was a clever woodworker and his favourite timber was Red Cedar. Over the years the native Cedar trees of Australia have been cut down for building, there aren't a lot of them left in their natural habitat .... we decided to try to plant some of our own

Here is a row of Red Cedar trees. We bought them as very small trees in pots just on 18 months ago. They struggled for a while and the wild rabbits or kangaroos pruned them for us. We places the protective barriers around them and we are so happy that they are growing strong.

They will lose their leaves over winter so we will keep fingers crossed that they come back strong in the Spring and grow stronger and taller.

I always love it when the trees we plant grow as we have the wildlife and cool climate to contend with.
