A Right Royal Weekend

I'm not sure if this photo qualifies for the challenge 'Story in a Picture' - the subject seems very specific and requires some luck in order to achieve a true story. This is the best I could achieve given the time, hope it's OK!

Over the weekend we visited a Victorian country house which was running an event titled 'Preparing for Royalty'. It introduced various actors playing the roles of the household and servants of the house from the year 1912, as they were in full preparation for the visit by King George V and Queen Mary.

The pair captured here were the Lord & Lady of the Manor. Caught as they were making their rounds, inspecting the house ensuring it was ready for royalty!

For the image, I decided to apply a technique to imitate a vintage photograph, possibly from the same era these actors were portraying. The key elements in these portraits seem to be the faded colouring, large amounts of noise and a strong, white rounded vignette.
