You are better than I

There is a certain pleasure that I take from watching both my girls surpassing my ability to swim at their age. I did learn to swim, but more like an underwater James Bond style extra. My forays into the deep end would be measured and never that far away from the safe haven of a bar.

Child #2 is making great progress with back stroke and is confident where I would have panicked. Eldest is a few lengths down the pool and could outswim me today, which has probably more to say about my lack of swimming ability today.

Time to get swimming I think.
