Can't see the wood for the ivy...

Been working on my husband's family tree for a large part of the day. It's rather compulsive but is a bit like the ivy on this tree: just when you think you've got a lead it suddenly goes off in all directions and you don't have a clue where you are! Frustrating, but I think we're almost there - back to 1728!
