Sweet Apple Blossoms and Honey Bees
The sun finally returned and a walk was in order after a week of rain. The deep breaths of fresh spring air held a sweetness that was familiar. It didn't take long for me to recognize it.... the apple-blossoms had begun to bloom.
Colby and I continued our walk and upon returning home was captivated by the smell of the blossoms outside our door. Before they erupted into fruit, I wanted to capture them in this moment, not for the smell - but because the image brings happy memories of my childhood. Apple picking was a yearly tradition and one that I continue with my own kids.
While shooting various flowers, I noticed this little honey bee spreading his pollen and ensuring that next spring, I will once again be welcomed into spring with sweet scents, happy memories and a continued family tradition for the fall.
Thank you little honey bee, your work has not gone unnoticed!
