30 years ago?!

My daughter was asking about this tonight, so I brought the medal off the wall to show her better.

Thirty years ago I was on a competitive crew team in San Diego. In November of 1982 we raced in our longest event to date. The Head of the Harbor in the Port of Los Angeles. Most of our raves were only 1000 meters; this was three miles long, and that day I raced twice. Once in the Junior four, and once in the Junior eight. I don't have many more ribbons or medals from my years of rowing, but even if I did, I think this would still be one of my favorites.
