Kinder egg

Not the chocolate kind of surprise but a bird's egg left in a nest on the open ground at the top of Kinder Scout. Wallis - or was it Frank - nearly stood on it. We wondered whether it had been abandoned but I'm reassured that the mother Lapwing (we think) may come back to this egg. Let's hope it escaped the footfall following us.

This was my first-ever visit to Kinder Scout and I loved it. A really interesting walk - and just the right amount of challenge for our group.
