FIRST TIME WINE AND COCKTAIL MIXER...
4 bottles of Italian Cabernet, 4 bottles of French Rose', 6 bottles of Tobago Rum, 2 bottles of Madrzzo Limoncello Liquore, 2 large cans of German Beer and a bottle of Spanish Dark Beer.... will serve approximately 130 mostly highly excited first time wine and cocktail tasters...that s what we did today at our college.
The class consisted of 2 Business English and 2 Tourism Management classes...my aim was to get them to taste something other than domestic wines and spirits, some consisting of a whopping 63% alcohol.
It is a custom here to drink at business functions mainly baijiu, the potent traditional Chinese liquor, but, with the Chinese sampling more imported wines from all over the world, we are seeing a change at some business meetings where both are being served.
I will mention China does have a large wine market, mostly reds, and some are quite good, but I as a foreigner, wanted to concentrate on imports for my class. Here in Nanchang we can get a very good selection of imports and domestic wines and spirits.
Our cocktail was a dark rum, peach juice, lime liquore concoction...good for a summers evening drink....I will name it the JIP...after our college...JIANGXI INDUSTRIAL PUNCH...an it did... (photo by Iain Dewar)
