A desperation blip from the car window on the way home. This morning took the car in for its 30000 mile (it's only done a little over half of that) service and first MOT. So was stuck at home all day waiting for the call and unable to settle to anything. Trying to 'phone them was impossible as "all our service advisors are busy". Assume that means my make of car has a lot of problems, although my (small) experience of car showrooms is like my (larger) experience of banks - lots of people wandering around or sitting at desks but nobody dealing with customers. Eventually got back to the dealer not long before closing and everything fine except the waterpump has a leak. OK - that will be done under warranty. But today is the last day of the warranty and we couldn't do it today because we don't have the part. So they need permission from the warranty department to do it next week. Grrrr. I'm hoping all will go well. Have to say I'm pleased they've registered the fault as I read a newspaper report in the last couple of weeks to the effect that one company was advising garages not to record such faults or mention them until after the warranty had expired.
PS: Amended to add that what might look like a well-packed graveyard in front of the church is just a showplace for the monumental masons next door.
