The Godess Durga...

Farsidehues went back home after our trip to rural Bengal. So it was time for me to go on an outing with my parents.
It is the first day of the fesive season in the city and the entire city is brimming with unbelievebale joy and celebrations. All over the city one can see various temporary stages decorated with lights and other stuff. Inside those one can find the most ornate images of Gods and Godesses. This one is one of the modest ones though. I found it very striking - very different from heavily decorated images. If someone is planning to visit India during the month of October, a visit to Kolkata is very highly recommended!
