Borough Congregational Church
I'm working in Southwark for a month or so and that is always a joy. These are the roads that Dickens brought alive in David Copperfield and Little Dorrit. The roads bear the names of Dickens's heroes and villains - Copperfield Street, Dorrit Street, Clennam Street. The post war planners forgot about them. Wherever the bombers missed there are hidden surprises.
Today's surprise floored me. A perfect Welsh Congregational Chapel maintaining the tradition of bilingual services. A precise home from home minute.
And to top it, on every corner of the chapel - every corner - there is engraved the eleventh commandment of the Welsh church that I grew up in. The cardinal commandment.
Na fydda niwsans : Don't be a bloody nuisance
