Odd one out?

I was given a large bag of something called "Wedding Mix" a few weeks ago by a great friend. He thought I'd appreciate it more than him.

To be honest I'm utterly perplexed by it.

From left-to-right, top-to-bottom;

sugar crystal; dried date; candied papaya;
candied pineapple; *?!?! - but it's sugary*; almond;
Omeprazole; green raisin; cashew

The sugar crystal is a thing of dubious beauty, the fruit and nuts examples of low and high GI snacks and the Omeprazole a necessity. But what the bloody hell is that thing in the middle?
