The many faces of Anne

Creepy no?

These are the faces for the resuscitation dolls we use for training in CPR. They freak a few people out but I think they look quite calm.

Blipping these as I heard the story of them this evening and wanted to share it. Apparently Anne was a real person - a french peasant who drowned in the Seine in the 1880s, and when she died her family made a death mask of her (a plaster cast of thier dead face, as there wouldnt have been photographs at the time). Later the mask ended up as a popular piece of art work and when doctors decided to make a doll for training in the 1960s they hired a Norweigan toy maker who used Anne's death mask for the face.
