The Sign On Rosie's door is my favourite childhood book.

I badly wanted to be Rosie.

She is a very cool Brooklyn girl of around 8 years old who has an alter ego called Alinda The Big Red Firecracker, she unashamedly bosses all the other kids in the neighbourhood around and has a cat called Buttermilk.

And I have always wanted a Wolf suit (and still do).

And I wish I could make Wild Things 'be still'.



RIP Maurice Sendak, your magic lives on in the imaginations of many.
