Megalopolis - Chris Potter

"Megalopolis" is a Greek word for Great city.

"Megalopolis,"( a movie) ......... was said to be about an architect in a futuristic New York who tries to create utopia through architecture. Coppola, who dropped the project officially in 2005, once (said) " It deals... with the idea that the future world we're going to live in is being negotiated today... It's kind of a shape-of-things-to-come film in which the characters are concerned with artists, businessmen, proletariat all having a stake in the future ........"

'a vast metropolitan area over 500 miles long stretching from Boston in the north to Washington, D.C. in the south. This area (and the title of Gottmann's book) is Megalopolis.'

As far as I am concerned Glasgow is a 'great city', but the second quotation above made me think of the area beside the SECC, near the regenerated urban banks of the Clyde.

Also pleased with this unaltered shot of the Skypark building
