Watchdogs...

My mum lost the second of her her beloved Labradors last year. She didn't feel able to get another dog yet, also as they're building a house abroad are worried about a puppy if they spend more and more time out there. But on the other hand she and my Dad hated the idea of being without their canine companions.

So 'Feels Like Home' dog boarding was born. Mum takes in other peoples dogs and looks after them as if they're her own. A much nicer prospect than a boarding kennel in my opinion. She spends hours each day walking them around the farm and surrounding fenland and is happier than I've know her in years. Clearly it's a concept which pleases people as she is almost fully booked until the new year!!! Only using a Facebook page and some business cards as advertising. People are actually booking their trips away around Mum's availability and they all seem to book in with her again as soon as they get home. I think they like being able to check in on their pampered pooches on Facebook while they're away.

This picture is Charlie (chocolate lab) and Daley (lab x staffy) from different homes but they had so much fun together. Here they are watching for my Dad's return from the dog sofa. (yes she bought a new sofa just for doggy guests! Her own dogs were Never aloud on the furniture!

Whit loves the steady influx of new playmates.
