Ready for rain

Taking this photo was a lot of fun... To set-up this shot, I had to carry the ladders in the middle of this field, which is a very popular dog-walking route at this time of year. Well, picture me running through the field with this huge ladder in my hand and Finnish dog-people - as I call them - staring at me, thinking: "what in the world is this guy doing?!?"

Well, I decided I wouldn't mind and just kept on running until I found a spot I liked. Then I set-up my tripod, put the ladder in place and pulled out the umbrella. That got the dog-people even more distressed... "Is this guy a MANIAC!?! There's no clouds in the sky and he is getting ready for the rain!! And what is he going to do with that ladder?", they must have thought.

But it kept getting worse! After pulling out the umbrella, I grabbed my rain-poncho (bought it from Nepal, by the way), slipped it on me, climbed up the ladder and started waiting for the rain...

Well, not really - I knew very well that there was not going to be any rain today, but I just loved the idea of climbing up the ladder and getting ready for the rain. Eventually IF the rain would come, I would be higher than anyone else and the rain would hit me first - before anyone else! :D
