Quintessentially English

(I think!)
Over visiting Mum this weekend.
Spent a really happy day today, all planned out from the start.
What wasn't planned was coming across a very British scene; a village fete at Rivington.
The atmosphere was so peaceful, and the world seemed safe. They were even selling lemon cheese on the cake stall!

The day also included a jumble sale, tea and cakes at one cafe, scones and hot chocolate at another and a walk through the woods and into the fields in between for good measure. A visit to my brothers new place and the kids having a go on their cousins new trampoline. Home to Mum-made gammon and chips and a bit of TV once the kids were asleep. Nice.
