In the frame.
Today I went for the first of 4 once-weekly days of a framing course at the SAFE-Creative Compass building in Bootle. It's a fascinating skill with lots to learn about how best to present an artwork, with options on not only frame but mount(s), backing and glass, and how to use the right eco-friendly materials to preserve the item being framed. The equipment is pretty heavy-duty, definitely not kitchen-table stuff, and the huge Morso cutter could easily remove a digit. At lunch-break I had a look at the art studios in operation, and the works in progress are truly spectacular. I had taken a healthy packed lunch but most of the people at the complex tucked into a FO huge spread from the local chippy. I now realise I could never be a real artist; I just couldn't physically eat that much!
