Positive Reinforcement

Sometimes, when I've stayed up later than is wise -- usually caused by Blip obsession -- I'm tempted to cut corners on my dental care. Then I hear the words of one of my previous dentists, "Only floss the ones you want to keep". I can't ignore the message.

I went for my six-month check-up and cleaning today, and as usual, got complimented on the condition of my teeth. I was told I have the teeth of a 50-year-old. Not bad for somebody who's 71. My dentist has told me several times that my teeth should last me my lifetime, even after I told him Dad almost made it to his 92nd birthday.

I'm going to keep flossing every one of them as long as I'm able. Sometimes eye-twinkling just isn't enough.
