Winter arrives when?

For the first day in a long time I got home in daylight today.
Opened the balcony doors and saw the sunshing leaping through the leaves.

Supposedly we are heading into winter, 1st June is the first day of winter, but its been 26C here today...................sorry all those in the UK suffering with the rain !!
