Musical May-Blood Brothers - Do Something Amazing

The musical Blood Brothers has little to do with this blip, other than both contain blood.

Do Something Amazing ...... the current slogan of the National Blood Service. 96% of us rely on the other 4% to give blood. Please don't leave it to someone else.

Pictured are an old style sphygmomanometer, used to measure blood pressure, together with the Wedgewood Plate that I was presented with for having made 100 blood donations. I achieved this in 1996 which was the 50th Anniversary of the Blood Transfusion Service being established, and the plate commemorates that.

Today's blip is an unashamed commercial - for the Blood Service, and also a reminder, for those of my age and above especially, that you need to get your blood pressure checked regularly - high blood pressure is a major killer through heart disease and strokes.
