round tail chub

First off, a big thank you to everyone who checked out and commented on yesterday's rattlesnake blip! I believe this is the first time I've been in the spotlight :)

Today we seined some more. This guy is a round tail chub. Large (>180mm long) native fish get an electronic tag injected into their body cavities and a chunk of flesh removed for DNA testing. This one has been caught before, and you can see where he's been plugged. They heal OK and it really doesn't adversely affect them.
