Arts Night in Northampton

Tonight was Arts Night Out in Northampton (5 to 8 pm on the second Friday, when art galleries, antique stores, and other institutions celebrate the arts.

This is the former courthouse in the town center, which now houses the offices of the Hampshire County Council. Just four days ago the county celebrated its 350th anniversary on these steps.

Viewed large, you can see tonight's musicians playing at the entrance. We didn't go in, but we did go to the Smith College Art Museum (it was free), and saw an excellent exhibition on the composer Claude Debussy.
